David is a film director born in Fribourg (CH) with vietnamese roots. He discovered the world of visual storytelling with the DV tape camera of his family and by drawing cartoons.

He studied partly at ECAL (École d’Art et de Design de Lausanne) but mostly during his experiences in the movie industry in Hong Kong, Paris, Berlin and Geneva.

He directs video-clips, short-films, portraits and commissioned movies. He feels comfortable from the movie set until the editing room. With his projects he aims to develop an universe full of freshness, humour and poetry.

In 2019, he won the Bédikian Foundation prize. The Bédikian foundation awards each year an artist from Fribourg for its activities and work that contributed to the art and culture of the state of Fribourg.
